If you follow that reasoning, also while comparing items you need to take a closer look at the orange points. The math is simple here. If the item that you examine is worse, when it comes to damage, e.g. by 1%, and it reads at the orange point that “damage from fire is higher by 15%” you need to calculate that, at the cost of 1% you receive 15% to all damage from fire.

There are other answers below:

Going from 120 to 140 is only a 16% if you compare to the 120, but you should be reseting back to 100 and then adding the new gear, right? If im at 100% and go to 20 extra, it will put me at 120. If im at 120 and swap it out for a 40% bonus, Ill be at 140.

Simple math will tell you that 130% damage 40-60% of the time > 10% damage all of the time. Rubies are 260 damage which is about a 10% damage buff in most good weapons at level 70. Comparing weapons if both would have an Emerald in them means about 12-16% of the damage comes from the Emerald in most gear setups.

Best Answer. Then you dual wield two weapons, and you compare a 2 handed weapon, it automatically compares it to both your main hand and off hand at the same time on the damage gains section. I equipped a one handed crossbow. compared it to my 2 handed bow for an upgrade of 4197 points of damage.

Given equivalent levels, Orange and Green items are the best, followed by yellow, followed by blue, and last white, which is the worst quality gear. However, a yellow or blue item that is significantly higher level (a level 67 yellow vs a level 30 Legendary) will sometimes be an upgrade.

400%ed vs Grief. 2,160 vs 4,032 (1.9dmg) (fort/phoenix) 1200 vs 2,240 (1.9xdmg) (fort) 480 vs 896 (1.9xdmg) just using 100str bonus. Grief would need to be changed to 200dmg from 400dmg in order to be close to even with a weapon that has 400% enhanced dmg. As it currently is you need your Berserker axe to have 800% ED to be pare with Grief.

In comparison we can take a look at LoD Skeletal Mage Necromancer “Rat”, they have: Legacy of Dreams: 2.0833; Razeth’s Volition: 2.0 multiplier; Bone Armor: 1.4285 multiplier; for a total multiplier of 5.95. Comparing these two numbers we can instantly say that Grim Scythe Necro is at least 10 times tankier than a Rat.

To find the ranges of stats on items, you will need to use a source outside of the game such as The Arreat Summit. In Diablo III however, it is possible to compare items in an automated fashion. If you are using the popular third party Slash Diablo servers and modified client, they offer and allow their own Maphack which shows stat ranges. Share

1 Answer1. Show activity on this post. Click the new mail icon in the bottom left. Click the icon to accept the items into your inventory. Right-click the items in your inventory to activate. Toggle the pet via the mirror icon on the bottom right. Took me a while to figure this out.

Oh, and Blood shards and ancients (plus Kadala, the Cube and all that) wasn’t in Diablo 3 from the start. Another thing is that even with slightly lower stats ancient items like the Magefists that you mention could be an improvement when augmented… but you probably need math to find that out (or just being able to compare two different damage numbers to see …
