Any amount of ram could technically work, but to run at 60 fps, 4gb ram is definitely needed for fortnite (assuming you have a decent processor and graphics). If you have ryzen, the faster the speed of your ram will contribute to much better fps.

If you are just running fornite there is only a 1FPS gain going from 8 gb of ram to 16 gb. I can’t even imagine there would be any gain going from 16 gb to 32 gb. You left out some info that could be helpful around your post. Are you building a new machine from scratch to do this?
